What a great Gigi!

I had the pleasure of painting at a very thoughtful grandmother's (they call her "Gigi") house today. She is expecting grandson number two very soon and wanted to make her little attic room extra special.
When they built this house, they carved out some attic space that would be just for sleepovers and playdates with their grandchildren. And it has GREAT bones! Look at those ceiling angles...perfect for a canopy of trees. She wanted to make sure that it was child-like, but not too boy-ish. I hope that she was pleased! I know that little William (and soon Wade, too) will have lots of fun in there. . .

our vacation in a (nut)shell

Well, the storm is coming just in time for us to leave in the morning. We had takeout from the Crab Trap--absolutely mouth-watering! And tonight we plan to swim (inside) and pack.

So far, Carter, Parker and Michelle have all had fevers, Lainey has had some kind of unbelievable constipation problem, Peyton has lost and found his DS a total of 17 times and Shawn has won three raquetball games (to Cory's two). Cory can no longer drink Bahama Mama's (he's too old), Shawn plans to finish his bucket-o-margaritas tonight, and we have learned that four cases of beer lasts four adults for four days.

And today, we found some really cool shells. . . .

perfect vacation pictures

Capturing those perfect pictures are impossible for me. . .

My advice: vacation with a great photographer!

rest and relaxation

I was thinking today about R & R.
I am not sure 'rest and relaxation' is exactly how you would describe this year's vacation, but it SURE was fun! We head home Sunday if the tropical storm doesn't send us that way sooner. . .

it's a jungle out there

These are some pictures that I have had for awhile . . . I saw the new mommy this weekend and remembered how much fun I had doing their room. Amber says they still LOVE their room and won't be painting over it until Hunter is at least 16. We'll see!

Back in the saddle again

I have fallen behind--already! Here is my latest mural . . . Last week I painted a landscape scene for a little girl's horse-themed room. I promised her mom that I would post better pictures once the room is "put back together". I think she is going to LOVE her new room.

good night, Dada

Dada is working in Texas this week.
We sure do miss him . . .

and take two!

a platter is worth a thousand words. . .

These are some examples of work that I've done for people privately and through the Paint'n Place. Most of the time, I don't see the pieces after they are fired, but with these I got to take a quick picture before giving them to the customer.

a-camping we will go. . .

On Friday, while Dada was working from home, I had the opportunity to paint at a friend-of-a-friend's home. She has two adorable little boys and they love to go camping . . .

Independence Day

Happy Birthday, America!
This is Parker with a really cool sparkler. Look at his eyes!

Michelle and I made some big wooden flags last night a la Betsy Ross style, to hang outside . . . Americana style with crackling and all :) I still don't know where I'll put mine, but hers looks great hanging on the brick on her front porch.
